It’s no secret that I use Mozilla’s Firebird browser. It’s no secret that I don’t like having to make things “work” in older browsers like Internet Explorer, which have low support for web standards.
Right now, Pokemon Forever “supports” Internet Explorer, Netscape 6+, Mozilla, Safari, and Konqueror. Text browsers can easily navigate the site, and Netscape up to version 4.
X sees an unstyled web site, that’s just plain text on a plain background. The reason for this treatment to Netscape 4.
X is because of it’s poor standards support. And if I treat Netscape 4.
X like this, then why not treat offending versions of Internet Explorer the same? Starting with Pokemon Forever’s new layout, I’ll no longer support a good looking layout for Internet Explorer. I might give it enough basic styles to survive, but all the prettiness of the layout’ll go to browsers that can understand them: Mozilla, Mozilla Firebird, Camino, Opera, Konqueror, Safari, etc. So, what program do you use to browse web sites? Internet Explorer? Mozilla? Opera? Are you using it on Windows? Mac OS X? A Linux distro (which one?), perhaps? What other web browsers have you tried, if any? Why do you use the one that you’re using right now?
