About
Back in 2005, I had the notion to make shiny alternates of Ken Sugimori’s GBA artwork. I had a free copy of Macromedia Fireworks at the time through school, and I set to work carefully adjusting the hue of each sprite.
February 24th, I completed 58 images in about four hours. I improved my technique along the way, and on the 25th I got through another 115 images in about in another five hours. Then on the 26th, another 56 images in two hours. The 27th, 77 images in three hours. The 28th, 18 more images in half an hour.
The project wasn’t finished yet, but I went a few days without working on any more. I resumed on March 6th with another 32 in two hours. Finally, on the 8th I finished off the final 33 images in just over an hour and a half.
About 18 hours in all, not counting short breaks I may have taken along the way.
